ATC's

So today I've been working on some ATC's for a summer swap. When I think of Summer I think of flowers, butterflies, beaches, warm breezes...ahhh..makes me want to head to the beach right now! I had these butterflies by Susan Winget and wanted to use them in my ATC's so I paired them with some Webster's Pages DP and some Tim Holtz tissue tape. I like how they turned out. Aren't ATC's so much fun to make..like a mini scrapbook page!

Oh how I love Spring

Easter weekend we took a trip to my hometown in NC to spend some quality time with my family. I took the boys to some historic buildings downtown for pictures. I love the look of old brick buildings! Great backdrops for photos. Here are a couple pictures of the old train depot and the boys walking on the tracks. I am very partial to Black and whites as you will see, lol!   I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend!

Simply Adorable images..

I was so excited for the new release of Simply Adorable digi stamps by Sugar Nellie. I snatched up the two newest additions. I cropped this one down a little with photoshop and die cut it with a scalloped circle Nestie.  She is colored with Copics to match the Colorbok Flea Market line of papers. Epoxy bird also by Colorbok.

Easter cards..and other happenings..

Wow..its been ages since I've last posted! Its been a busy few weeks for us. I have a new nephew, David, born on St. Patty's Day. He had some complications and stayed in the NICU for a week, but he's a healthy and happy baby now.  After he made an appearance we headed out for D.C for a few days for the boys spring break. It was great timing in that we got to see the blooming of the Cherry trees..lovely!

I've made two Easter cards this weekend with some adorable vintage clip art I had on hand. I mixed in a little fabric from my stash and paper doilies.  Just something about the vintage style that warms my heart!

a couple layouts..

So I have decided that I need to start putting some of my pictures on paper..I have 4 boxes of pictures over the last 10 years of my boys life..lol!  I have stacks of scrapbook pages that I have already finished but really I have at least that many more that need to be done  (golly I take too many pictures!) ...sooo... I picked out a handful and went to work. This is a good way for me to use up my stash as I have a bad habit of hoarding kits for that perfect picture or layout to come along. But really what is the point of hanging on to them..they need to get used!!  So here we have a couple beach layouts with  photos from 2008 (gasp!) I love these pictures of the boys..beach pics are always my fave! Papers and embellishments are all by My Mind's Eye, breaking free collection.  Cardstock alphas by Basic Grey. ....   Now its your turn to dig out some of those old kits you've been hoarding and start downsizing all those pictures.  Unless of course you are one of those people that makes up your layouts as soon as your pictures arrive, if so then I'm totally jealous!!   :)

Stash Bash 2011

There is a challenge going on over at Scrapbook Place, Lindsy is challenging us to use our stash. The only item you can purchase for this challenge is adhesive...rofl..lucky for me I have a stash of that too. ;)  I have to be the worst paper hoarder EVER!  In fact I'm so bad that I have two bins of just scrap pieces that I didn't dare throw away in case I needed just a little piece for embellishing..heaven forbid you should have to cut up a 12x12 just for a little strip..haha!  So..my resolution for this year is to get rid of my scraps..my scrap papers..ribbon snips..those single rhinestones. .etc. etc..and use that paper I've been hanging on to for the perfect picture to come along.  I have a 6ft.x4ft. pegboard filled to the max with embellishment packs that I HAVE to force myself to use.  Guess I better get busy, lol!    Soo  today I have created  several pieces from only 3 sheets of stash paper!  YAY!   This all comes from the DCWV Street Lace Stack..love this paper!!  OMG..it hurts to use it..can you feel my pain !?!   So here is what I've done with it:

A page kit..consisting of 3 photo mats, a journal card and an ATC for embellishing...I even used some pearls that were left over from another project ..and the clip that I have been hoarding.  heehee!  But I actually have a bag of those clips so I'm not stressing yet..lol!
And here we have two cards..all done up and awaiting a sentiment..I'm thinking these would be good Thank you cards..what do you think?  Drool, drool..that paper is to die for, you can't see in the picture but the Poppies on the paper are embossed..so lovely..so I cut them out and used them for embellishing. Won't you join me in the Stash Bash challenge and get to digging in your stashes...

Fall is in the air...

Ahh...I LOVE Fall...Its in the air today...that cool crisp feeling that makes ya want to put some cider on to simmer and throw on a sweater. I love sweater weather! Its my most favorite time of the year! My boys spent the weekend out side playing football, its the quietest this house has been in months.
During the heat of the summer they would only last an hour outside at max.
Its been awesome hearing them play together..little boy laughter is contagious!

Anyway..I made up a card with the cutey little girl with pumpkin designed by Heather Ellis. And if you want to pick up your own digi of this stamp you can find them HERE
DP: Fancy Pants
Die: Sizzix, Tim Holtz
Argyle texture plate: Cuttlebug
Hat Pin: Maya Road

Also you should know that Wild Orchid Crafts has recently lowered their prices, as well as shipping, to the US..so if you've been holding out on buying these gorgeous Mulberry flowers,  nows the time to dive in!

And on another note..my E000 copic went dry, boohoo!  So I have ordered a refill..just have to wait for it to make its way to me. I just cannot bring myself to color another face without it :(

Heather Ellis digi Christmas cards...

Ok..so this little project took about 6hours longer than I expected it to take, :0)..
but alas I have finally finished up another batch of Christmas cards!
I have used a digi stamp by Heather Ellis. I love this little image, so cute and whimsical...She is colored with copics with a little Stickles and Flower Soft "snow" added in. OK..so I really really wanted to color those mistletoe berries red! I know they are green and stuck with green..but they were just begging for red..lol..
Papers are from My Mind's Eye.."Colorful Christmas", I adore this collection and just bought another set (just in case I run low and decide to hoard some, lol)
And check out the ticket stub!  Isn't it FAB!!  It came from Bizzy Becs and you should head on over to the store to check out the Halloween ticket stubs..so cute!

Anywhooo...It's World Card Making Day weekend..so happy card making!

hugs,T
