I have designed a card for you today using Floppy Latte Designs Celebrate with Thanksgiving quote.  Such a beautiful quote with the Block letters which I have colored with copics and accented with glossy accents. I paired this image with a vintage Thanksgiving image from my collection. I have used papers from Simple Stories Harvest Lane collection.  And stacked a few Prima flowers for added dimension. I have spritzed the card and quote with Lindy's Stamp Gang "Long John Silvers" Moonshadow spritz along with Tim Holtz vintage photo distress ink.  The edge of the layers have been distressed and curled to show the lovely woodgrain pattern of the paper beneath.   Hope you enjoy the blog hop today and thanks for Celebrating our anniversary with us!

Dont forget to leave a little love along the way in order to qualify for the prize drawing!!

Happy Holiday Season!!

Vintage inspired altered clothespin

I took this little wooden clothespin and turned it into a magnet to hold a few notes on the fridge. I have altered it with tiny prima flowers and a Martha Stewart punched butterfly. I added some some glitter around the edges and a couple little tiny pink rhinestones on the end of the clip. I have a little note card made from a small kraft bag from Michaels, I added some Prima paper clippings from various collections to the inside. Love that seam binding..I added a bit of it for the binding for my note card and hung a little charm from a grommet pin. :)  I made 3 of these for a swap over at Your Paper Pantry..I can't wait to see what the other girls come up with.

Fall tickets for Artsy Fartsy Ticket swap YPP

OK so I'm a little obsessed over these Tim Holtz ticket strips!!  I love them!  This is my second ticket swap over at Your Paper Pantry and Octobers theme was "Thanksgiving"  you could design either a Thanksgiving/Fall theme ticket or a "thank you" ticket to be used on gifts..as a table setting..or for your altered items.  Here are mine:

I have used both vintage Graphics and stamps. I colored the stamped images with colored pencils and Gamsol along with twinkling H2O's. You can't see the shimmer in the photo, but the pumpkins are so shimmery! Love it!  I only have a few colors of those twinkling H2O's..I'm thinking I may need to buy a few more. They have been in my stash for years, lol.  Things come full circle don't they..haha!

Happy Halloween!!

Wishing you a Happy Fall

I have created this little card using a sketch provided by Pammie for Scrapbook Place Challenge blog. The challenge was to use a Fall theme.  I love Fall season..love it!  So this was a easy challenge for me, I have used the Harvest line from Simple Stories along with a vintage image from my stash. I made a flower using some orange synthetic fabric and added a little sprig of gold holly berries. :)

Domino pendants

I've always wanted to try making these little cuties but I found them to be very intimidating for some reason..they seem very complex and beautiful when finished. So Regan over at  Your Paper Pantry had a swap going on this month in her baubles group, the challenge was to create 3 domino pendants in any style you would like...YAY!!  I decided to give it a whirl. I did a little researching on YouTube and found a few tuts..mostly people are either using epoxy, mod podge, or glossy accents.  I did not have any epoxy resin on hand so I opted out of that tutorial..I tried the glossy accents but it caused my image to bleed underneath so by the next day I tossed those and started over..lol!  This is what I came up with. I used some Tim Holtz alcohol ink and marbled all my dominoes, then I used a couple Prima paper images from the Romantique line and adhered them with mod podge to three of the dominoes. Next I mod podged over top and let it all dry..then applied a coat of clear sealant spray over top.  For the next 2 dominoes I stamped some images using Stazon onto tissue paper and i used floor wax to apply the tissue to the domino..crazy I know!  I never would have thought it would work but I saw a tut using this technique and the wax actually makes the tissue transparent so that when you apply it to the domino, you only see the stamped image and the colors beneath..LOVE THIS! After placing the image where you want it, you seal it with Mod podge and again with the sealant sprays. I added bails to all my dominoes so they can be used as pendants. I also added some small charms dangling from the bottom.  I am most excited about the fact that now I have my first ones behind me and found that they are really very simple to design..I can't wait to make up some more!

So tell me which style do you prefer?

Christmas tag

I found this beautiful vintage Christmas image over at nicecranedesigns and my fingers were itching to create with it...sooo..I made a tag. :). Its my go to project for quick little creations..I do love tags!!

For this tag, I used some vintage photo stain to cover the tag, then spritzed it with some glimmer mist. I added some little bits of vintage lace, a key, and paper scraps from the MME Lost and Found Christmas line.. along with a Prima flower.  I used one of the little brown paper bags from Michaels and enclosed another vintage tag and photo, clipped shut with a tiny clothespin. :)  Love tags!!
Thanks for looking..  Hugs,T

I added a little bronze snowflake and a little watchmaker vial that I filled with snow glitter by Martha Stewart.  The next set will be a set of embellished scrabble tiles with vintage Christmas images. Love these little charms!  I love making them but mostly I love receiving other peoples little works of art. Its so exciting!

Graphic 45 Happy Haunting tag

Over at Scrapbook Place this month we did a Graphic 45 tag swap with the Happy Haunting collection. I absolutely love Fall..and I love Halloween!!  It probably has a little something to do with my birthday being on Halloween and I have such great childhood memories of Halloween growing up. So here is my tag I designed for my partner Sue.

I used the blue starry background as the base for my card. I diecut Tim Holtz spooky houses from chipboard and painted them with black and blue crackle paint. I fussy cut the little image of the witch flying in front of the moon and the iron gate.  I used hinges to secure the gate to the tag so that it can open.

And here is the tag with the gate opened showing another fussy cut image of children with a sign that says :"Wishing you all a Jolly Halloween!"   I attached some pom pom trim to the bottom, compliments of my sweet friend Holley...thank you Holley , I love this trim!!  I added a little fiber in the Halloween flavors ;)  and a little bat charm.  Dont you just love this collection!!

Steampunk upcycle lunchbag YPP

This month over at Your Paper Pantry, the theme for the lunchbag upcycle swap is 'Steampunk'.  And since I'm loving steampunk these days I decided to sign up and give it a whirl.  You basically need to alter a standard size lunchbag in the appropriate theme, to be used as a gift bag..or insert for a mini.  Here is mine:

I have used paper by Donna Salazar's Antiquities line along with the 7 gypsies Steampunk stamp set...and a butterfly stamp from my stash.  Ticket and clip by Tim Holtz. Metal gears from my stash. Fabric rose is cut from trim purchased at Wild Orchid Crafts and spritzed with Tattered Angels chalkboard spritz. And I have added some polka dot washi tape to top for a little decorative edge.  I folded over the bottom flap and cinched it down to form a little pocket for a little tag. This was a fun swap, I can't wait to hear what next months theme is..

The stunning photo is from Altered Artifacts Etsy store this one is from the Victorian tinprints collection..love it!  So please go check out her awesome store for lots of creative images..

Old Parisian Fleamarket swivel charm

I finished up my first set of swivel charms for a swap over at The Scrap Beach. The theme was Old Parisian Fleamarket. I chose some vintage charms to include a crown, eiffel tower, antique hand mirror, an old key, some gears and a scrabble tile charm with a vintage image on it. I attached a little Tim Holtz film swatch which I LOVE.  When I think of Old Paris..I think deep blues, pinks, black and burgandy. This was my very first swivel charm swap and I'm very excited about it..I have mounted them on a dress form tag with some black tuelle. I hope the girls like them!

Thanks for looking!

I used mostly pinks, blacks, greys for all the dangle charms and included steampunk theme charms and gears.

Olde Curiosity Shoppe Tag

So I decided to join in on a tag swap over at Life on the scrap beach.  I've fallen in love with the Graphic 45 collections and I especially love the Olde Curiosity Shoppe papers and embellishments.  This swap was an Olde Curiosity Shoppe tag swap...use your imagination to portray what things you might find there. Sooo...I gave it a whirl and this is what I came up with. Granted..I did order the paper but after 2 weeks it still had not arrived so I was forced to come up with something on my own. lol..  I altered both sides of the tag and added a handmade charm and stick pin:

This is the front of the tag. I printed an eye chart onto canvas and frayed the edges. I painted over the dress form with crackle paint and distressed it with Tim Holtz distress inks. Flower is handmade using Tim Holtz distressed floral die.

And this is the back using another image printed on canvas as well as a tiny watch maker vial holding a lock and key. Another handmade flower along with a handmade charm to dangle from the top ribbon. Such a fun tag to make. Love all the vintagey goodness!!

Websters pages warehouse sale and layout

I hope everyone is enjoying their Summer..its in full swing in the Rogers household..baseball everyday with little time for anything else. I've decided to bail out of the SYAO competition.. I made it 18 weeks and I am super thrilled about that! I fiished 18 layouts and used tons of photos and stash items that otherwise would still be unused so I'm very happy with the end result.  It was starting to stress me out finding the time between family, work,  baseball, and housework to get the layout accomplished...and since I wanted it to be a stress free experience I decided to drop it.

Here is my last layout using Websters pages. And you might want to go check out www.websterspages.com today, they are having their annual warehouse sale!!  Perfect time to grab a box of goodies valued at $129 for only $25. I've been waiting an entire year for the sale so I was super excited to snatch that little box up quickly! Now if only I could fly to California for the Prima sidewalk sale...haha!  I'm pretty sure that will never happen.  So who lives in California that would be willing to shop for me during the next sidewalk sale??  LOL.yep...its an addiction!

Have a great rest of the week!
Hugs, T

I have used an older collection from Fancy Pants...Daily Grind along with the matching chipboard embellishments.

May SFYTT

Time for the May SFYTT over at I heart 2 stamp blog ...its always exciting every month to see what the newest sketch is going to be. This month happens to be hubby's bday..so I used this sketch to make him a bday card using one of Mo's  digi stamps.  "King for the Day"..haha..that is soo him!  His recliner and remote are his favorite on a good lazy day, love this image and its SO fun to color. Too bad they didn't have a bald one, lol..I was stumped at what color to color his hair being that he's been shaving his for 20years..haha!  I've used copics in a wide range of blues and greens.  Paper by Basic grey along with some trim and buttons from my stash. I think it will bring a smile to his face..along with the gift certificate for an hr. deep tissue massage at the spa tucked inside. :)   (I should have bought me one too!)

Week 13 SYAO

Soo...I'm so in love with Simple Stories paper collections..OMG...they are amazing. This is from the Generations set and I found that each side was so pretty I had to order a second set so that I could use both sides. I wish the sets included 2 of each piece..that would be very handy indeed and solve my hoarding issue!  I never want to use the last of that beautiful piece because I cringe at chopping it up, lol!   The set comes with these adorable photo overlay transparencies..love the doily one!!  These were not the photos I intended to use for this layout..but the family Christmas photos I "thought" I ordered turned out not to be :(  I want to thank my friend Linda for the beautiful crochet heart..isn't it the cutest thing ever!!  Thanks Linda!!   So this is week 13 SYAO sketch...I'm late in posting it on my blog because my allergies got the best of me last week and I thought I was going to succumb to a death by stuffy nose and hay fever.  Its terrible!!  But I've managed to survive :)  Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!!   Hugs,T

Its a Go Green Challenge over at Scrapbook Place Challenge Blog.  I used a paper towel roll covered in pattern paper to design a little holder for some vintage embellishments. Easy Peasy and all GREEN!!
