Caardvarks~monogram theme card

I just love monograms! I have a box dedicated to them, both big and small...Basic Grey monograms are my fav's, they are so big ya gotta love 'em! I was super excited to hear the theme over at Caardvarks this week is for Monogram cards, wooohooo...It got my creative juices flowing again. I created this Fall card for my luckybugdesignerRAKs partner for the upcoming month. The fall Tilda is so cute and so much fun to color!

Sugar Nellie and Shortcuts...

I picked up some of the cool clear acetate cards from ShortCuts and I couldn't wait to play with them. I love this Elisabeth Bell image from Sugar Nellie (www.funkykits.com)and its new to my stash also so thought she deserved the spotlight. Colored with Copic markers, she is actually behind the first acetate layer thus making her look blurred. Hope you like.. hugs,T

Well, It was my Anniversary and I needed to make Hubby a card. I wanted to use my little owl diecuts because I thought it was "kind of" masculine, lol! I loved
Laura's sketch this week so I gave it a whirl and this is what I came up with. I'm doubling up and using this for my "die cut" card on www.caardvarks.blogspot.com as well, thanks Laura for introducing me to the site!. The theme this week is die cuts! Hope you like..and hope he does too, lol! (Like Men ever really pay attention to the cards anyway, haha!)

A little Bella Love to share..

Here are some Bella items i've been working on for Christmas swaps. JATC- Jumbo ATC cards, and Bella altered candles. I was very excited about the candles..I wasn't sure how they would turn out because I've never altered candles before, but now I'm addicted! Its super easy to do!
You will need:
stamp
Stazon ink
wax paper
white or cream candle
markers or pens
heat gun

You stamp your image with Stazon ink onto tissue paper. Next you color your image with markers, pens..etc. Now you want to cut out your image very near to the edge. Place your image in the desired spot on your candle, colored side up. Place a long sheet of wax paper over top and wrap around the candle with extra to hold on to. Pull wax very tight and hold tight while passing your heat gun over the image. You'll start to notice a change in the color as the tissue starts to absorb into the wax. When you see no more noticeable tissue then you are done..pull the wax off carefully. Its that easy, and super cute with Bellas, Tildas..etc. I did one with one of my Penny Black hedgehogs and thought it turned out pretty cute too...especially for my first try. I jazzed these up a little bit with some felt ribbon. Hope you like! hugs,T

She sells Magnolia stamps! For all of us Magnolia lovers, you know how difficult it is to get your hands on these little cuties here in the US. Summer is from the beautiful Hawaii and her shipping is very very cheap, not to mention speedy! I shouldn't be sharing my secrets because now they will be flying off the shelf, but I know some of you have been looking for an online source in the US. This n that....a new Yahoo group...

Its been so long since I've posted anything..it's been a bit crazy around here lately. I've been sick all week with some early Fall sinus/allergy issues which landed me with a sinus infection and larygitis..not being able to talk is the worst thing for me!! I talk ALOT!! But I did get a few things done last week and I'll post some pics later on. I have some exciting news to share!! My friend Heidi has started a Yahoo group called Designer RAKs...its set up for all of us Bella, Magnolia, Penny Black, Sugar Nellie, Rachel Ann, Sarah Kay, Elisabeth lovers... My beach trip....

Being that my life is one big adventure...vacation is no different! I got jelly fish stung twice. Shaun caught flipper while deep sea fishing and almost got jerked out of the boat. The beach was closed to swimmers most of the week because of so many drownings from riptides, so we decided to go exploring..now that was an adventure all by itself! But we had a wonderful time with all our family and we were all sad for it to be over. Here are a few pics to share. hugs,T

Heidi rocks!!

I just love Heidi..she sent me the most awesome prizes and RAKs! What a wonderful surprise after a rotten day! For those of you know me, know that I am prone to bad luck..I've become use to it lately..haha...and tonight I drove almost 2hrs. home from work to find that I was locked out (I live in TN and work in NC).. Hubby had to work late and he had my key because my BIL and SIL have the spare. Thank goodness for them..they met me 1/2 way to get the spare...
Back to my RAK..Heidi is amazing and knows exactly the kind of stuff I love! We are so alike in our styles that she sent me (without even knowing)some paper I have been looking for..WE R Memory keepers Promenade!! How awesome is that! I won a blog challenge she had going, as well as a points challenge on her group and she sent some RAKs as well, so I received all kinds of goodies!

ok....non scrapbook related but..

Woooohooo....I am now typing from my very own new laptop..early birthday present from hubby..yippee for me. Thank you to my sweet SIL for calling and putting the bug in his ear, teehee! Now we don't have to fight for puter time constantly, and I got really tired of trying to type on the teensy Ipod screen while he was having his puter time. "Way to Go" mini cards...

Had a few moments of peace..(very rare in my house!) so I made up some "Way to Go" mini cards to mail to the ScrapbookPlace Jewelry box. The background PP is by My Mind's Eye. The Paisley is from a Cuttlebug embossing folder~ Perfect Paisley~ and is rubbed with a burgundy Fresco chalk pad to make it "pop". Stamp is CTMH. Hope you like them!

I just finished up some fall card fronts for an upcoming swap, I like the vintage feel to them...The bird stamp is from a 1998 set by Stampin' Up called Feathered Friends~ 10 years old and still stamps great!! PP by Fancy Pants (stripe) and DreamStreet Designs.

Birdie bits by Dream Street papers...

I just love this birdie paper collection. The brights are really awesome with the stripes, dots and checks. I made this baby bird layout using a pic of Jake peeking around the tree. I thought the paper really accented his shirt. Hope you like!

Woohooo...got the last two pages finished! Just in time to add my beach pics!

a scrappy wall hanging

It was my Gran's birthday and I made up this cute little wall hanging of the boys for them to give to her. It was super easy! I took an 8.5" x 11" piece of chipboard and covered it with cardstock. Use coordinating PP to embellish the sides, add photo's and those cute little Heidi Swapp photo corners, add some stickers and chipboard letters for embellishment (I used boy 97% complete stickers from 7 gypsies and MM chipboard "boy" letters) When you are happy with the results~ use your handy dandy hole punch and hammer (in your tool kit) and punch two holes in the top for hanging your ribbon. I used 3 Bugs in a Rug designer brads "Seeing Stars" to attach my ribbon knots through the hole. Hope you like!

Well..I'm back from vacation

We had a wonderful 5 days at the beach with our friends.. the weather was wonderful, the water was perfect and the pina colada's were yummy! haha! Have to share some pics..

Fall Card fronts

Well, I've been playing catch up a little...organizing my room..cleaning..organizing some more..seems that part is never ending! But I did get something crafty done~ I stamped up these little bears playing in the leaves and made some fall card fronts for a swap coming up. The object of the card front swap is to design just the front on a piece of cardstock. I keep mine in a little deco box and when I need, say a bday card..I pull out a bday card front and adhere it to the front of a card base...easy peasy! Allie gave me this idea awhile back, I think its great! Cheaper shipping when doing swaps and takes up less room in your card storage.
